The Middle East North Africa (MENA) Regional Network to Stop the Use of Children as Soldiers was formally established in August 2002, resulting from the second regional workshop on child soldiers issues, in Amman, Jordan.
In October 2003, the network elected a Regional Steering Committee and a new Regional Coordinator: Mrs. Nuha Maayta, Director of the Pioneer Woman Center for Training. Network members span across the region. In June 2004, the MENA network underwent an overall evaluation including an evaluation of its members and steering committee.
